Austin Kirk Jenkins better known as Adam Cole was born on July 5, 1989, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Cole is a professional wrestler currently signed to AEW.

Adam Cole began training in 2007 under D. J. Hyde and Jon Dahmer at the Combat Zone Wrestling Wrestling Academy. He debuted for CZW the following year and hit the independent circuit in 2009.

After impressing fans and critics on the scene he signed for ROH in 2010. He debuted with Kyle O’Reilly in a tag team known as Future Shock. The following year he appeared for PWG debuting against the Young Bucks alongside O’Reilly.

He won the ROH Television Title, in 2012 holding it for 246 days. He then won the PWG World Championship in 2013 holding to it for a then record-setting 538 days. During this time alongside the Bucks and Kevin Steen, he founded the stable the Mount Rushmore Of Wrestling and dominated the promotion.

In 2014, Cole won the ROH Heavyweight Championship for the first time. At the end of the year a shoulder injury, which required surgery and kept him out of action for five months.

Following his return, Cole joined the Bullet Club and formed The Superkliq alongside the Bucks. As part of the faction, Cole also performed for NJPW. At Wrestle Kingdom 11 he defeated O’Reilly for the ROH title becoming the first three-time ROH World Champion in the process.

In 2017, Cole debuted in NXT attacking Drew McIntyre with O’Reilly and Fish. As the leader of the Undisputed Era he, ran roughshod throughout the entire company. After weeks of attacks, the faction was put in the first-ever WarGames match in WWE at NXT TakeOver: WarGames.

Cole made his main roster debut at 2018’s Royal Rumble before becoming the inaugural NXT North American Champion at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. That same night he won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and retained the NXT Tag Team Championships.

In 2019, Cole defeated Johnny Gargano for the NXT Championship. He became the face of the brand and the longest-reigning champion in the promotion’s history. After losing the title the Undisputed Era broke up resulting in Cole entering a long-lasting feud with Kyle O’Reilly. The former stablemates clashed in three heated matches, which resulted in Cole leaving NXT in 2021.

At AEW All Out, Cole made his surprise debut joining Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks to from the Super-Elite. Cole was then joined by his former Undisputed Era running buddies O’Reilly and Bobby Fish to form the Undisputed Elite.

Cole challenged Adam Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship at Revolution and on Rampage in a Texas Deathmatch. His first success came in the form of the Owen Hart Cup tournament. Cole won the inaugural competition at Double or Nothing alongside his girlfriend Britt Baker, who won the women’s tournament.

Cole inserted himself into the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship contention and challenged for the title in a four-way match with, Hangman Page, Jay White and Kazuchika Okada. During the match, Cole suffered a serious concussion and was removed from AEW programming to recover.

After a six-month absence, he made his return to AEW and declared he would be returning to ring soon.
