Adam Cole Will Require Two Surgeries To Heal Broken Ankle

Adam Cole Confirmed For AEW Dynamite

Adam Cole has revealed he will have to be operated on multiple times.

Cole stated on the episode of Dynamite following Grand Slam that his ankle had shattered and he would require surgery. With many concerned about the well-being of Cole following the fall, Tony Khan would address the media regarding the condition of Adam Cole after WrestleDream.

Speaking on Twitch, the Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion described what will be required to heal the worst injury he has ever had:

“Obviously, as many people know, my ankle is broken,” Cole said. “And when it’s all said and done, when I’m eventually able to get everything all fixed, I’m going to need to get two surgeries and it will be a total of eight screws and a plate in my ankle. So, not ideal. It’s incredibly painful. It’s the most painful injury I’ve ever had.”

Cole would continue to describe how the broken ankle has also had an impact on his mental health, which is harder to deal with than the physical pain:

“In speaking to doctors, just an absolute freak type of thing. Just no idea how it happened. But I’m doing my best to stay as positive as I can. Obviously, this is soul-crushing. It’s really, really a bummer. If anything it’s more painful mentally, and physically it really, really hurts as well.”

How Did Adam Cole Get Injured

As best friend MJF was defending the World Championship at Grand Slam against Samoa Joe, it looked as if the champion was in danger of losing the Triple B. Cole sprinted to ringside to offer moral support to MJF, but was seen falling awkwardly off the entrance ramp on the way to the ringside area. Adam Cole was taken to hospital immediately after the main event of Grand Slam concluded.
