The Road Dogg Brian James sees a lot of upside to Adam Cole, and thinks he smells wonderful to boot.
On the upcoming episode of “Oh…You Didn’t Know?” James and co-host Casio Kid continue a weekly segment titled “Top Dogg” where Road Dogg gets three wrestlers from any era and has to determine if he’s a better “sports entertainer” than they are.
The two make crystal clear that there’s a distinction between “pro wrestler” and “sports entertainer” with the latter having more of the expected entertainment aspect of the squared circle. Sports entertainer has a greater focus on charisma, engagement with the fans and persona over actual ability in the wrestling ring.
Due to the obvious connection between wrestling and “sports entertainment,” the segment has caused a lot of controversy for James as before he stated that he’s a better “sports entertainer” than Bret Hart and The Young Bucks. However, one name Dogg doesn’t believe his prime self matches up with is Adam Cole.
Road Dogg Thinks Adam Cole Is Too Good On The Microphone
Road Dogg got to work with Cole back during his WWE NXT days and is all too familiar with the charisma of the former NXT Champion which made him quickly admit that Cole is a better sports entertainer than he is.
“Yeah. I’m going to say no [I’m not], and this is just me being honest. He can work really good. That matters to me when I’m thinking about sports entertainer – he’s really good in the ring. However, ge’s also, I would argue, a lot better than me on a microphone. Like, his promo skills are impressive. Like that’s that, man.
“I can’t say anything bad about the kid because he’s extremely respectful and professional and can say everything you want him to say in exactly the tone you want him to say it in and never curse or never cross a sponsor line, you know what I mean? You never have to push the censor button on him He’s just extremely professional, respectful kid that has a great, just incredible amount of promo skills.
“I can’t sing his praises high enough and th only negative about him at all is his size and it doesn’t seem to have held him back so bad. You know what I mean? So kudos to him for all of his success. You smell terrific, Adam.”
