Britt Baker: 2022 Biography, Net Worth, Family, Income
Brittany Baker better known as Britt Baker was born in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania on April 23, 1991, and is a professional wrestler currently signed to AEW. As well as being a wrestler, Baker continues to work as a dentist at a private practice in Winter Park, Florida.
Before starting her wrestling journey Baker enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. While studying dentistry she began her wrestling training under current WWE Superstars Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae at Absolute Intense Wrestling. She made her debut in 2015 for International Wrestling Cartel, where she eventually became the first-ever IWC Women’s Champion a year later all the while still studying at dental school. She graduated with honours in May 2018.
That same year she competed in a Four Corner Survival match against Madison Rayne, Chelsea Green, and Tessa Blanchard at the AEW precursor event All In pay-per-view. Her work on the independent scene would see her appear for ROH, SHIMMER, STARDOM and Pro Wrestling EVE to name but a few.
Having garnered attention as a fledgling indie star with bags of potential, Baker was the first woman signed to AEW in 2019. Starting her “All Elite” career, Baker was pushed heavily as a babyface and was instantly placed at the top of the division defeating Awesome Kong, Nyla Rose and Kylie Rae in a Four Way match at AEW’s inaugural PPV, Double or Nothing.
Baker lost her first crack at the AEW Women’s Championship against Riho before beating Bea Priestly at the Full Gear Buy-In. However, the win streak halted. She lost a number one contender match to Kris Statlander followed by another unsuccessful title challenge in a Four-Way match that also involved Hikaru Shida and Nyla Rose.
On the special edition of Dynamite, hailing from Chris Jericho’s cruise Britt Baker defeated Priscilla Kelly before turning heel. The heel turn came during an interview with Tony Schiavone in which she called him a “sh*tty barista” and told the fans she was superior to every single one of them.
The heel turn made Baker one of the most entertaining stars in the entire company. Even an injury to her leg, which required surgery, couldn’t slow her momentum. Baker appeared on weekly television in a wheelchair, complete with comedic vignettes of her recovery. During this time she began a rivalry with Big Swole, which resulted in a cinematic Tooth and Nail match at All Out 2020.
The following month Baker entered a feud with Thunder Rosa, which resulted in the Unsanctioned Lights Out Anything Goes match in AEW’s first-ever women’s main event. Despite losing the history-making match it cemented Baker as the face of AEW’s women’s division and an undeniable title challenger.
Over the following weeks, Britt Baker picked up victory after victory enroute to becoming the number one contender. Then at 2021’s Double or Nothing, she defeated Hikaru Shida to become the fourth AEW Women’s Champion. As champion, Baker continued to elevate her position in the promotion. She successfully defended the title against Nyla Rose, Kris Statlnader and Ruby Soho before she and Thunder Rosa rekindled their rivalry in 2022. Baker would lose the title to Rosa in a Steel Cage Match on the one-year-anniversary of their historic main event match.
Since losing the title Baker went on to be crowned the inaugural Owen Hart Foundation winner, defeating Maki, Itoh, and Toni Storm along the way. Baker then began feuding with Saraya and will face her at Full Gear.
