Adam Cole Taken To Hospital Following AEW Grand Slam

Adam Cole

Adam Cole left Arthur Ashe Stadium on crutches following AEW Grand Slam.

In the main event of Dynamite, MJF put the AEW World Championship on the line against Samoa Joe. The veteran had earned his shot at the gold after emerging victorious from a tournament to determine a new number-one contender.

The match was an incredibly physical contest and ended with shenanigans galore. With MJF trapped in a sleeper, he began to fade, but Adam Cole ran in as the champion fought back.

MJF then caught Joe in a sleeper of his own, but the challenger rammed him into the corner, taking out the referee in the process. With Paul Turner down, Cole gave MJF a rope and he used it to choke out Joe.

Once the referee came around, Joe passed out, handing MJF the win. After the match, Joe shoved Cole but MJF got between them, and the champion and challenger shook hands before Joe left for the back.

Despite his involvement in the match, it seems that Cole suffered an injury in the process. When he ran in, Cole jumped from the ramp to ringside and seemed to tweak his ankle in the process. The star was noticeably limping for the rest of the match.

It was reported by Fightful Select after the show that Cole was “in obvious pain backstage” before being taken to hospital. He was also seen on crutches.

The injury to Adam Cole could impact MJF’s plans for WrestleDream.

On the September 27th episode of Dynamite, Adam Cole said he requires surgery on his ankle.

Adam Cole Joins Jon Moxley On The Injured List

Adam Cole’s injury comes after Jon Moxley also got injured during the show. Moxley suffered his injury during his International Title defence against Rey Fenix, and it’s believed he’s suffered a minor concussion.
