Road Dogg On What May Be Holding Braun Strowman Back

Braun Strowman

Road Dogg has revealed a single factor that could be holding Braun Strowman back from becoming a top name in WWE.

Speaking on his Oh You Didn’t Know podcast, Road Dogg answered a question about The Monster Among Men’s viability as a top star today and claimed he could be, but he believes he could work more on his promos to help elevate him to the next level.

“He definitely has some upside still to him and could he be the top guy? Yeah. The only thing that made me pause at all was the promo. I think he just needs to work on his promo still, but he hasn’t had a chance to do a lot of sit down interviews where you hear Braun Strowman, like, where you get to know Braun Strowman.

The idea of the monster Braun Strowman turning over a rental bus or whatever is more marketable than hearing the guy talk about his back pain and his reality. You know what I mean, but I think, look, here’s my test. Here’s my test: will he put a three piece suit on and go on the Today Show and sell my company for me, and that’s not my company.

I’m just talking like the big guy, and go on and represent and shill my wares in a way that’s positive and promotable, and so I think he could do that. I think he’d probably look great in a friggin suit to tell you the truth and I think he could totally do that. I just think the promo game is the only thing I think would give me pause.”

WWE Believed To Have Signed Former AEW Dark Regular

WWE is believed to have signed former NWA World Women’s Tag Team Champion and AEW Dark regular Madi Wrenkowski.

PWInsider reports that Wrenkowski was at the WWE Performance Center last week and is believed to have signed with the company to compete on NXT. She was one of several independent talents to take part in a WWE tryout back in September.

Wrenkowski most notably held the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside Missa Kate throughout most of this year, only losing the titles in August to Pretty Empowered after a six-month reign.

She also competed in AEW between 2020 and 2022, competing almost exclusively on Dark and Dark: Elevation. She appeared on AEW TV just once, losing a squash match to Nyla Rose on the March 25th, 2022 episode of Rampage.

ECW Legend Explains Why WarGames Is A Must-Win For Damage CTRL

Bayley & Damage CTRL

Wrestling legend Tommy Dreamer has explained why he believes Damage CTRL must win the Women’s WarGames match this weekend.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Dreamer claimed that following up the introduction of both Asuka and the recently returned Kairi Sane to the group with a major loss would put their credibility into question.

He went on to claim that a win over Belair, Lynch, Flair and Shotzi would also give them heat, something he believes they’re missing in comparison to other factions like The Judgement Day.

“If you need to help establish this group, what better way to do it than against, honestly, a superpowers team of females? And the best way to go out there and do it, to solidify this group of ‘Wow, this group is really, really something.’ Because they haven’t really had something that the Judgment Day has, and that’s something called heat. The Judgment Day has heat. They have it through Dominik. They don’t boo Bayley out of the building when she grabs that microphone. They don’t boo any member of Damage CTRL out of the building. You can set those situations up.”

ROH Match Ends Early Due To Suspected Concussion

A recent match at a ROH taping was forced to be stopped early due to one of its competitors suffering from what is suspected to be a concussion.

Ring of Honor’s latest TV taping took place last night with one of its matches seeing Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal take on Griff Garrison and Cole Karter. Unfortunately, however, the match didn’t end as intended.

PWInsider reports that at one point during the match, Sydal hit a twisting splash on Karter but landed directly on his face and caused his head to collide with the ring canvas hard. The maneuver is suspected to have given Karter a concussion.

Both Daniels and the referee Paul Turner quickly realised something was wrong and called the ringside doctor, Doc Sampson, who called for the bell to be rung after checking Karter over.

Karter took a while to exit the ring but was thankfully able to walk out under his own power. As he did, Daniels got on the microphone and put Karter over, stating wrestling is a dangerous sport and that they didn’t want to win that way.

Speculation On Potentially Lengthy Recovery For Adam Cole

Adam Cole doing his signature pose on the ring apron

It looks like it’ll be quite some time before we see Adam Cole return to the ring properly if recent speculation is to be believed.

During the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Adam Cole’s recovery from his freak ankle injury at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam back in September and how his promo on lats night’s Dynamite ties into it.

Specifically, he noted that how Cole spoke, on top of the fact that he is yet to go through physical therapy and is still on crutches, suggests that the former NXT Champion will be out of action for a significant period.

“The whole promo sounded to me like it’s a long time before we’re gonna see him in the ring. He’s still on crutches, he still has to go through physical therapy. It’s not like it’s going to be a three-month thing. No one’s given a timeframe. But boy, the way he talked, it sounds like it’d be a while.”

William Regal Reflects On His Retirement Match 10 Years On

William Regal hitting a Knee Trembler on Cesaro in WWE NXT

William Regal has reflected on his retirement match against Claudio Castagnoli in NXT on its 10-year anniversary.

Regal ended his legendary 30-year in-ring career on NXT taping back in November 2013 where he took on the rising star then known as Antonio Cesaro. The two clashed in a 20-minute bout that ended with Cesaro as the victor after a decisive Neutraliser.

10 years on from his final foray inside the ropes, the now-55-year-old took to social media to praise Cesaro and thank those who had supported him throughout his three-decade career.

The post prompted a response from his final opponent himself with Castagnoli thanking Regal for the bout.

The AEW World Championship will be on the line in the first match officially announced for AEW Worlds End.

Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan for AEW Worlds End was for Samoa Joe to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship in the show’s main event. On last night’s edition of Dynamite, that plan was confirmed.

Joe earned an opportunity at MJF’s AEW World Championship when he helped the champion retain his ROH World Tag Team Championship against The Gunns on the Full Gear Buy-In. On Dynamite, MJF agreed to give Joe his opportunity after some hesitation only for Joe to refuse, instead wanting to hold off their clash until Worlds End.

Christian Cage (left) talking to Luchasaurus (right) on AEW Dynamite

Luchasaurus is no more as the AEW star underwent a name change during the latest AEW Dynamite.

During last night’s episode of the show, Christian Cage “rechristened” both Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne following their loss at AEW Full Gear. Luchasaurus was officially renamed ‘Killswitch’ after Cage’s finishing move whilst Wayne got to keep his name but with the addition of ‘The Prodigy’ as a nickname.

The segment ended with Nick Wayne’s mother making her way down to the ring and eventually being knocked to the ground after Cage shoved Killswitch into her. Cage attempted to give her a conchairto but Adam Copeland made the save and gave Wayne a conchairto instead.
