Further Information Regarding Adam Cole’s Ankle Injury

Adam Cole

If Adam Cole is playing up his unfortunate ankle injury for storyline purposes, then AEW is being cautious to dot their “i’s” and cross their “t’s.”

On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole revealed that he had broken his ankle, not in just one, but three different places and that he will unfortunately have to undergo surgery.

However, the storyline developments on the very same program presented cause for pause in regards to Cole’s conundrum. Cole was on the cusp of relinquishing the ROH World Tag Team Titles when MJF put a stop to it, stating that he’d defend them on his own against Bullet Club Gold at WrestleDream. Cole then ended up leaving with Roderick Strong and The Kingdom as Jay White exchanged barbs with MJF, but it was later on in the program when White was ambushed by masked men, one of whom was donning MJF’s famous devil mask. Everything unfolding in such a manner led many to question the legitimacy of Cole’s injury.

Is Adam Cole Really Injured?

According to Fightful Select, sources at AEW tell them that Adam Cole is actually scheduled for surgery and that he’ll be out of commission for awhile. On top of that, Cole was seen on crutches and needed help getting around. Britt Baker further added to the potential fact that Cole is hurt by commenting and sharing pictures of his leg on social media.

“This guy broke his ankle in 3 places on a freak accident. He still hobbled around on live tv because as we like to say ‘the show must go on.’ Adam Cole gives his entire heart and soul to pro wrestling. He’s one tough cookie and this is just a small bump in the road. He’ll be back better than ever BAYBAY.”

Afterwards, Baker decided to put all the “social media doctors” on blast after they started going into diagnosis mode.

“Lots of podiatrists and orthopedic surgeons out here on twitter giving out their expert medical consults for free. It’s inspiring really.”

After undergoing surgery, Adam Cole has issued a heartfelt statement to the fans.
