Women’s Owen Hart Tournament Match Pulled From AEW Dynamite

On the June 28th episide of AEW Dynamite Britt Baker was set to face Ruby Soho in the Quarter Finals of the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. However, it was announced live on air that the match has now been canceled.

Taking to social media Tony Khan revealed that Baker was unable to compete on the show due to illness and her match with Soho has been rescheduled for next week’s show on July 5th.

Britt Baker vs Ruby Soho Rescheduled For July 5th Edition Of AEW Dynamite

No information is available at this time as to the nature of Baker’s illness but as the announcement states, she is expected to be back in action next week.

This is the second time in as many weeks the promotion has had to make last minute alterations to one of its shows. Baker’s partner, Adam Cole also suffered from a brief illness, which resulted in his match against Filthy Tom Lawlor removed from Forbidden Door.

Speaking of Cole, he returned to television during the show to continue his angle with World Champion MJF. The two enemies became partners on last week’s show as part of the Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament.

The other quarter final matches of the tournament kicked off on June 23rd episode of Rampage and saw Skye Blue defeat Anna JAS. The NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale beat Nyla Rose on the June 24th Collision and ROH Women’s Champion Athena bested Billie Starks at the Forbidden Door Zero Hour Buy In.

As the last quarter final match Skye Blue will have to wait and see who her Semi-Final opponent is when Baker and Soho goes down next week in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Following the breaking news, it was also revealed that Soho will be in action during the show.
