Top AEW Star “Banged Up” Ahead of Double Or Nothing

Jamie Hayter, Britt Baker

AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter is said to be “banged up” going into Double or Nothing.

The star was pulled from the May 17th edition of Dynamite with Tony Khan announcing that she was injured.

Hayter had been due to team up with Hikaru Shida and Britt Baker to take on Saraya, Ruby Soho, and Toni Storm as the war between The Outcasts and the rest of the women’s locker room continues.

The last time Hayter competed was on the April 19th episode of AEW’s flagship show when she teamed with Baker against Storm and Soho. After the match, The Outcasts beat the champ down and she was helped to the back.

While the nature of the injury is unclear, she is still scheduled to defend the title against Storm at Double or Nothing. On the latest edition of Dynamite, a video package aired hyping the bout.

New report provides update on AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter

On the latest edition of Fightful’s After Dynamite show, Sean Ross Sapp noted that Hayter is “hurt”, adding that he believes we could see a big shift in the AEW women’s division in the very near future.

“Jamie [Hayter] is hurt, she is hurt. I’m thinking that this whole division looks categorically different in five days.

“I see the winds of change coming here, and I think we are in for some major change in this division all around.”

Sapp added that he has been leaning towards Storm winning the title at Double or Nothing as, with the launch of Collision, the company will want the title to be defended regularly, although he is just basing that on what he sees onscreen.

“You got Jamie banged up, they don’t want people not being able to defend when they got two shows. So, I’ve been leaning towards Toni for a while – people are saying ‘what do you know?’ Nothing, I just think that based on what we’re seeing here.”
