Saraya Wishes She Could Redo Her Return Match At AEW Full Gear

Saraya wrestles Britt Baker in her AEW debut at Full Gear 2022.

Saraya wanted her debut match in AEW to be better.

Following a five-year absence from the ring, the future leader of The Outcasts had her return match against Britt Baker at Full Gear 2022. The match itself left some fans underwhelmed as it did not feel like the quality of the match they were used to. The match at the pay-per-view was not rated highly by critics either as it was awarded two and a quarter stars in Dave Meltzer’s Full Gear review.

While appearing on Truth or Dab, Saraya was asked if there were any moments in her career that she would like to repeat. The Norwich native revealed that she would go back in time to Full Gear as she was not pleased with her performance:

“Winning the divas championship, winning the NXT Championship, winning the AEW World Women’s Championship. All of it. If I could redo my first match back, I would because I was the shits [laughs]. I wish I could have been better in my first match back after five years,”

When Did Saraya Get Cleared To Wrestle?

At the start of 2022, it looked like the Women’s Champion would never wrestle again despite only being in her 20s following multiple injuries. Known as Paige in WWE, the trailblazer of the women’s division departed the company in July after being signed for more than a decade. The exit was also acknowledged by WWE themselves, who sent a heartfelt tribute to Paige following the departure.

With WWE not clearing the former Superstar to compete, fans did not know what was next for the British wrestler, but all was changed at Grand Slam 2022. Making a surprise appearance at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and now going by the name Saraya, the Women’s Champion restarted the rumour mill in regards to a potential comeback. Following weeks of speculation, Saraya announced that she was “100% cleared” and made the challenge to Baker for Full Gear.
