AEW Dynamite Sees An Increase In Viewership This Week, Number One In Key Demographic

Adam Cole returns to Dynamite

“AEW Dynamite” is seeing an upward trend two weeks after Forbidden Door 2.

While “AEW Collision” crashed this past Saturday in viewership, “Dynamite” blew up a little, specifically in the 18-49 demographic.

Wrestlenomics released the numbers for Wednesday night’s episode and the program had an average of 855,000 total viewers, a six percent boost from the episode following AEX x NJPW Forbidden Door 2.

When it comes to the key demographic, Dynamite’s fuse was lit by a 20% increase from the week previous after being watched by an average of 380,000 viewers aged 18-49. That also made it #1 in that category for cable originals, beating out “Sistas Series” on BET and “Real Housewives Of Orange County” on Bravo. Tony Khan celebrated in the good numbers on social media while plugging the upcoming 100th episode of “AEW Rampage” this Friday.

AEW Dynamite “Hot Tagged” With Start Of Eliminator Tournament

Wednesday night’s episode of “Dynamite” had MJF and Adam Cole as “odd bed fellows” in the beginning of the AEW Blind Eliminator Tag Team Tournament. Their opponents were initially unknown before it was revealed that they were fighting The Butcher and Jericho Appreciation Society’s Matt Menard. Cole and Max weren’t the only ones to kick off the tournament as Darby Allin and Orange Cassidy battled friends turned foes in Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland.

From a story perspective, Dynamite created some intrigue between fellow Canadians in Chris Jericho and Don Callis. The two men from Winnipeg left it at a “maybe” as to if they’d form an alliance with one another.

Another tournament also continued to take place as Britt Baker battled Ruby Soho in their first round fight.
