CM Punk’s WWE Raw Promo Cut Short; How Did He React?

CM Punk promo on WWE Raw

According to a new report, CM Punk’s comeback promo on WWE Raw was cut for time.

At Survivor Series on November 25th, CM Punk made a shocking return to WWE for the first time since his contentious exit in 2014. While he didn’t address the crowd in his hometown of Chicago, he was advertised to be appearing on the November 27th episode of Raw with a live microphone in his hand.

Sure enough, following the main event match between an also-returning Randy Orton and Dominik Mysterio, Punk took to the ring and spoke to those in attendance in Nashville. He joked that hell had frozen over before firmly declaring that he was “home.”

Punk also referenced his wife AJ Lee, who he said was doing fabulous and sends her regards to the WWE Universe.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, Punk’s promo time was cut short due to the bout between Orton and Mysterio running long. The report notes that Punk seemed fine with this change.

One source indicated that while the promo may not have been scripted, the general direction of the promo was known backstage, and it wasn’t expected that he would take any shots at AEW. This is in line with a previous report that Punk is looking to move on from his AEW drama.

CM Punk On “Best Behavior” At WWE Raw

Despite reports that Punk’s WWE comeback left numerous talent upset, the star’s demeanor at Monday Night Raw on November 27th was reportedly pleasant and he left a good impression on people backstage.

Fightful Select also noted that Punk appeared to be in a good mood on Monday night, and that he was on his “best behavior.” Interestingly, some in WWE have been told that CM Punk has a behavior clause in his new WWE contract, though this has yet to be confirmed.

CM Punk and Randy Orton returning to Monday Night Raw proved to be a huge ratings boost on November 27th.
