CM Punk Not Allowed To Reference AEW On WWE TV; Multiple NDA's Signed

CM Punk is not permitted to discuss the events that took place in the previous 12 months on WWE TV.

With Punk given a live microphone for the November 27th broadcast of Raw, many were anticipating something special. With previous Punk return promos taking shots at former companies he worked for and former rivals, some fans expected subtle or even not-so-subtle shots to be fired in the direction of AEW and those in an executive position.

Those who expected something on the level of the Pipebomb were left disappointed as CM Punk’s WWE return promo was much more friendly, thanking the fans for never forgetting about him and declaring that he was back home. Although it is only week one of the return, don’t expect any insider references any time soon.

As reported by Haus of Wrestling, those who are close to Punk ahve stated that the former World Champion is “looking to move past the drama of AEW entirely” and there are “no plans” to address anything that happened in All Elite Wrestling.

A new update on the situation has been provided in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, stating that due to multiple non-disclosure agreements being signed by Punk and other parties:

For those wondering or disappointed that Punk said nothing about AEW, it’s because both he and others have signed several NDA’s regarding talking publicly about the other.

Although nothing can be said by either party, the end segment of Punk’s promo that fans thought may have been a subtle dig was when the former AEW star seemingly took part in a victory lap around the ring.

Some fans thought that this was in reference to The Young Bucks’ behaviour after an episode of Collision went off the air, where Matt and Nick Jackson took part in a victory lap when it was announced that Punk had been released by AEW hours before. Haus of Wrestling has also confirmed that Punk’s behaviour had nothing to do with The Bucks and was nothing more than him reacting to the moment.

Is The Locker Room Happy With CM Punk’s Return?

With the rumours being true and Punk now back in WWE once again, The Best in the World has had time to interact with the Raw locker room and reunite with Superstars he has not seen in nearly a decade. While the return promo from Punk stated that he was well received upon his arrival, a new report regarding the backstage reception of CM Punk in WWE tells a different story.
