Bret Hart Calls AEW Match A “Masterclass”

Bret Hart in AEW

Bret Hart was full of praise for one of FTR’s matches on AEW Collision.

The July 15th episode of Collision opened with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler defending their AEW Tag Team Championships in a 2 out of 3 falls match against Jay White and Juice Robinson.

Bullet Club Gold earned the first pinfall in the match when Jay White pinned Cash Wheeler, and the champions fought back and eventually earned the second fall by pinning Juice Robinson after a Shatter Machine.

After 58 minutes of intense action and nearing a time limit draw, Harwood and Wheeler were able to retain their titles when Harwood got Robinson to tap out to a Sharpshooter.

The bout received high praise from fans and critics alike, and taking to social media on December 20th, Dax Harwood revealed that WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart was also a fan of the match. Harwood wrote:

“7/15/23

Bret text me before this match in Calgary to wish me luck. He said the Stampede fans were hardcore fans & hard to impress. He text me after & said it was one of the greatest matches he’s ever seen; the last 30 mins in particular. He called those last 30 mins a “masterclass”.

58 mins on free tv. Greatest Collision match in its short history? You be the judge

Easily a Top 5 FTR/Revival Tag Match.”

“Indescribable” – Dax Harwood On Receiving Praise From Bret Hart

Harwood and Wheeler have made no secret of the fact that Hart is one of their greatest inspirations, and when asked how it felt to receive such high praise from someone so revered, Harwood said the feeling was like none other, writing:

“Indescribable feeling.”

FTR were named the number one tag team in the annual PWI Tag Team 100.
