Adam Copeland's First AEW Match Is Official

WWE Hall of Famer Adam Copeland, known to fans as Edge, is set to make his in-ring debut on AEW Dynamite on October 10th.

AEW recently announced that Copeland will be making an appearance as a speaker on the October 4th episode and Copeland will also be participating in a match against Luchasaurus on the October 10th episode of AEW Dynamite.

Copeland made an incredible debut at the end of WrestleDream, where he prevented Christian Cage from hitting Sting with a conchairto. He then fought off Nick Wayne, who had turned on Darby Allin during the main event, and Luchasaurus. Christian escaped the ring while Copeland vanquished Christian’s allies.

AEW owner Tony Khan used the post-WrestleDream press conference to announce the date and opponent for Adam Copeland’s first AEW match.

Why Did Adam Copeland Leave WWE?

During the post-show media scrum for AEW WrestleDream Adam Copeland revealed that he wanted to make the jump from WWE to AEW for a number of different reasons, including wanting to help put over the younger talent and to work with established performers that he has never worked with before such as Sting and Samoa Joe.

Copeland also revealed that he felt excited and free like he hasn’t felt since he was wrestling on independent shows at the beginning of his career over 30 years ago, he also said that he won’t just come in every three months, that he will be there every week and he wants to do that for as long as he possibly can.
