WWE SmackDown Results – December 1, 2023

This week’s SmackDown saw Randy Orton make an appearance, Bianca Belair was in action against Kairi Sane, the return of Logan Paul, and more.

It was SmackDown at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY with Michael Cole, Corey Graves & Kevin Patrick.

Bianca Belair did an in-ring promo celebrating her team’s win at Survivor Series in the Women’s WarGames match. Belair said she was still coming after IYO SKY’s WWE Women’s Title. Damage CTRL’s Sky, Kairi Sane, Asuka and Dakota Kai appeared without Bayley. Kai said Belair had to go through the rest of Damage CTRL to get to Sky. Charlotte Flair & Shotzi said they wanted to go through Damage CTRL too. The groups got into a brawl with Belair, Flair & Shotzi standing tall. The announcers wondered where Bayley was.

After a break, Bayley told the rest of Damage CTRL that she didn’t know they were going out there. Dakota Kai said that Kairi Sane had to face Belair, so they wanted Bayley to help Sane and Bayley said sure.

Match #1: Bobby Lashley defeated Butch by pinfall. Butch put up a fight, but Lashley was too much and Lashley won with a Spear.

There was a backstage segment with Paul Heyman talking to SmackDown GM Nick Aldis. GM Aldis said he intends to sign Randy Orton to the SmackDown brand while Heyman wasn’t happy about it.

Butch was interviewed backstage and said that he didn’t know why Ridge Holland left him last week. Pretty Deadly mocked Butch, who tried to fight them, but Pretty Deadly dominated Butch and threw him into an equipment case.

Match #2: Santos Escobar defeated Joaquin Wilde by pinfall. Escobar won with a Phantom Driver.

After the match, Escobar tried to beat up Wilde some more, but Dragon Lee made the save. Lee hit a hurricanrana and dropkick to send Escobar out of the ring.

Nick Aldis was backstage looking at a contract. Adam Pearce, the Raw GM, walked in wondering if the rumor was true that Nick wanted to sign Randy Orton to Smackdown. Nick said that Randy’s a free agent. Pearce had a Raw contract in his hand saying that he’ll try to sign Randy tonight too.

Logan Paul, the US Champion, did a promo bragging about being a champion. Paul announced an eight-man tournament for a shot at his US Title. The eight wrestlers are: Santos Escobar, Dragon Lee, Karrion Kross, Bobby Lashley, Grayson Waller, Austin Theory, Kevin Owens and an NXT Superstar. Kevin Owens arrived to get in Logan’s face saying he would take that title from him. Austin Theory & Grayson Waller showed up to insult Owens, so Owens punched Theory ahead of the Owens match with Waller.

Match #3: Kevin Owens defeated Grayson Waller by pinfall. Waller worked on KO’s right hand during the match, so KO was using different moves. Owens won using his left hand for a rollup pin.

Following the show, WWE announced that Kevin Owens had suffered a broken hand as a result of the match.

It was announced that CM Punk will be on SmackDown next week.

Match #4: Bianca Belair defeated Kairi Sane by pinfall. The referee ejected Charlotte Flair, Shotzi, IYO SKY, Asuka & Dakota Kai from ringside due to interfering. Bayley showed up later and did a cheap attack on Belair, but Belair came back to win with a KOD slam.

Randy Orton made a contract decision in the main event with Raw GM Adam Pearce and Smackdown GM Nick Aldis in the ring trying to get Orton to sign with them. Paul Heyman said that The Bloodline will decide for Orton. Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso attacked Orton, but LA Knight showed up for the save. Knight fought with Solo to the back and Orton dropped Jimmy with an RKO.

Randy Orton told Paul Heyman to call Roman Reigns and you can tell him: “Daddy’s back.” Smackdown GM Aldis raised Orton’s hand, so Orton hit him with an RKO because that’s what Orton does. Orton looked like he regretted it, but then he celebrated as Orton’s music played some more. Heyman was shown telling his phone to call Roman Reigns. Orton celebrated to end the show.
