CM Punk Welcome Back In WWE Under One Crucial Condition

CM Punk taunts in the AEW Collision ring wearing yellow trunks.

At WWE Survivor Series: WarGames CM Punk shocked the wrestling world again with his sensational return to the company.

Punk made his surprise comeback at the close of the WarGames PLE to a huge ovation. As the team of Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Randy Orton were celebrating their victory over the Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre, Cult of Personality hit and sent the Chicago crowd into a frenzy.

But, while the fans in attendance were thrilled to see Punk back, there were several WWE Superstars who were clearly angered over the former AEW Champion’s appearance. Seth Rollins, who previously branded CM Punk “a cancer”, was captured on camera reacting furiously to the comeback.

Punk is a polarizing character and has a career full of locker room tension. His AEW tenure was plagued with backstage confrontations, which ultimately led to his release from the promotion. Following his firing from AEW, rumours were rife surrounding a possible WWE return, but his backstage conduct was always a factor. Now, with his return official, it is apparently under one critical condition.

CM Punk Back In WWE But Under One Condition

According to PW Insider Punk’s WWE return has been carefully considered by those in charge. Officials within the company believe Punk is a valuable asset, as long as he doesn’t cause any problems and his comeback is all about making money rather than creating animosity and driving people crazy.

Punk’s last run in WWE ended badly when he walked out of the company in 2014. Punk quit the promotion after a relationship breakdown with Vince McMahon and Triple. The relationship between the parties continued to sour following a controversial podcast appearance that resulted in legal altercations. But now, with McMahon no longer heading the company and Triple H willing to move on, Punk’s comeback was able to happen.

During the Survivor Series: WarGames Press Conference Triple H addressed the big talking point stating that fans wanted Punk back in the promotion and because both he and Punk have changed as people, they were able to make it work.
