Seth Rollins has made it clear that he’s no fan of CM Punk.
After the infamous brawl and press conference that followed AEW All Out, CM Punk has resided in a strange no man’s land in All Elite Wrestling. While a serious triceps injury was set to keep him out of the ring, his actions following All Out might keep him out of the company altogether.
With Punk seeming not returning to AEW any time soon there has been a steady stream of rumours that the star could even return to WWE. It was reported that while some within the company still had issues with Punk over his 2014 exit, it wouldn’t be impossible for a deal to be put together that would see him return.
Punk famously walked out of WWE following the 2014 Royal Rumble and was open in his dislike of the company for a number of years. The star initially insisted that he would never wrestle again before eventually signing with AEW in 2021.
Seth Rollins Hits Out At CM Punk
Speaking to Wrestling Inc Senior News Editor, Nick Hausman ahead of the Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins was asked whether he would like Punk to return to WWE. Pulling no punches, Rollins stated that Punk was a “cancer,” and said he should stay away from WWE.
“Oh Philly, Phil, stay away. Stay away you cancer. Get away from me forever. Yeah I don’t like Phil, he’s a jerk. Oh did we just figure that out? Did we just figure that out? Everybody in the room is like ‘oh no did he say that?’ He’s a jerk, come on. They figured it out over there, we knew it over here. I don’t want him back. [waves hand] Go do something else. Bye, bye. See you later.”

Seth Rollins made his main roster debut as part of The Shield at the 2012 Survivor Series. Perhaps ironically given his latest comments, the group ensured that Punk retained the WWE Championship. Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley) initially aligned with Punk before the two sides went their separate ways in early 2013.
Rollins is coming off the back of one of the biggest years of his career in 2022 after excelling in a number of matches and becoming one of the highlights of Monday Night Raw. The former World Champion will be back in action on January 28th when he takes part in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
In a new interview in December 2023, Seth Rollins explained why he has animosity towards CM Punk.
