Booker T Calls For WWE To Scrap SmackDown Faction

Booker T

Booker T believes that WWE should disband SmackDown faction Hit Row.

The WWE Hall Of Famer voiced his opinion after the recent release of Hit Row member Top Dolla during a day that also saw the likes of Rick Boogs, Elias and Dolph Ziggler depart the company as part of cost cuts following the recent merger with UFC.

Top Dolla originally signed with WWE back in January 2020 before joining forces with Isaiah “Swerve” Scott in NXT five months later. After the duo came together, the following week they were joined by Ashante “Thee” Adonis, and B-Fab, creating Hit Row.

The quartet was called up to the main roster as part of the WWE Draft in October 2021, but all four members were released a month later.

The group returned to SmackDown nine months later after Triple H was appointed as WWE Head Of Creative but did so without Scott who had joined AEW in the meantime, using the ring name of Swerve Strickland.

With Hit Row’s return proving underwhelming, Top Dolla was once again released by WWE on September 21st 2023. The release came despite claims from the Superstar that talks were held for him to battle veteran announcer Michael Cole in a match.

Speaking on a recent edition of his podcast ‘Hall of Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore‘, the five-time WCW Champion stated his belief that the group should disband and highlighted Strickland’s absence from the faction as a key factor in its lack of success:

“I don’t think they’re going to continue as Hit Row. I think they might as well dismantle that thing, I think when they lost Swerve, that was the glue.”

Booker T Also Uncertain About Another SmackDown Faction

Booker T also revealed recently that he remained unconvinced about another budding partnership in WWE. Despite popularity with fans as of late, the former King of WWE declared that he was feeling conflicted about the pairing of Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits.

In a recent interview, Booker T has called for a shock WWE result to take place.
