Matt Hardy is confident that the biggest match possible for WWE will happen, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns.
WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia will be the first Mania produced under the TKO Holdings banner. With the company more valuable than ever before and the upcoming WrestleMania already breaking the all-time gate record, the new conglomerate is hoping to put on a successful show.
Speaking on The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy believes that a match of that magnitude would potentially break all existing records previously held by the company:
“It’s a huge match. It’s huge, and I think it would lead to a very successful WrestleMania,”
While the match is still just a hypothetical scenario amongst fans, Hardy believes that the match will happen in 2024:
“I do [think it will happen]. I feel like now that Rocky has been speaking about it and saying it was almost greenlit for last year, and now they might do it this year… I feel like if he’s even mentioning it in any capacity, that it’s in his mind to do. Yeah, I do think it will happen, and I do think it will be a huge draw. I don’t think the diehard wrestling fans will get the match that they want, but it’s going to be a huge spectacle, one that will have casual fans extremely interested in, and they’re gonna wanna tune in and watch it.”
Another wrestler who has high admiration for The Great One is Hulk Hogan, who recently named Rock as one of the 4 names on his professional wrestling Mount Rushmore.

A Superstar who is very likely to be on the card for WrestleMania 40 is Jade Cargill. Following the high-profile announcement that the former AEW star has signed with WWE, Hardy believes that Jade Cargill is Vince McMahon’s perfect wrestler.
