Daniel Bryan will get one more shot at the Universal Championship on April 11th as both he and Edge will now challenge Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 37!

On the latest edition of SmackDown, the leader of ‘The Yes Movement’ opened the show and demanded a Universal Championship rematch with Roman Reigns later that night after making Reigns submit at Fastlane. After Adam Pearce denied Bryan’s request, the latter would then suggest he challenge the winner of Reigns vs Edge the night after which would draw the ire of the ‘Rated R Superstar’.

Edge accused Bryan of attempting to “pick the bones” of his and Reigns’ monumental confrontation before berating him, telling him that he didn’t deserve another title shot and calling him a “son of a b*tch. The two brawled with Edge getting the upper-hand. Later, ‘The Tribal Chief’ confronted Pearce and told him that he would only be defending the Universal Championship once at WrestleMania.

In the show’s main event, Pearce would bring all three men to the ring before announcing his decision: Daniel Bryan would be added to the Universal Championship bout, making the match a triple threat between Bryan, Reigns and Edge. The latter two were irate with the announcement, leading to a fight breaking out between the three. The show eventually closed with Edge alone in the ring after delivering a Spear to both Reigns and Bryan.

This will be Daniel Bryan’s second WrestleMania main event after defeating Batista and Randy Orton to win the WWE Championship for a third time at WrestleMania 30’s conclusion. This also marks the fourth world championship match Bryan has competed in on ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’, having contended for both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships at WrestleMania 28, 30 and 35 previously.
