Dominik Mysterio Mocks CM Punk With Clip Of AEW Botch: “Punch Me Like This”

CM Punk Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio didn’t hold back in his response to CM Punk.

Survivor Series saw CM Punk make a shocking return to WWE for the first time since his acrimonious exit in 2014. The star has appeared on Raw, SmackDown, and even NXT since his return, but has yet to compete inside the squared circle.

On December 12th, WWE announced that CM Punk’s first match would take place on December 26th inside Madison Square Garden against a familiar face: Dominik Mysterio.

Punk and Mysterio have a long history dating back to Punk’s previous WWE feuds with Rey Mysterio. In 2010, Punk and his Straight Edge Society memorably interrupted a birthday celebration for a young Allyah Mysterio while Dominik was also in the ring. Punk sang a menacing version of Happy Birthday to the terrified young girl before challenging Rey to a match at WrestleMania 26.

While he was commentating for CFFC over the weekend, Punk joked that he’s wanted to punch Dominik since he was 8 years old, and the Judgment Day star responded by posting a clip of Punk botching a springboard clothesline during his time in AEW. Mysterio included the caption:

“Punk me like this please…@CM Punk #bestintheworld”

CM Punk Will Enter The 2024 Royal Rumble

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was visibly upset during Punk’s return to WWE, though his outburst is reportedly part of an angle to set up a feud between the two men. Rollins has shown no hesitation in furthering personal issues between the two, calling Punk “selfish” and a “fraud.”

On the December 11th edition of Raw, CM Punk and Seth Rollins finally came face to face inside a WWE ring, just after Punk declared that he had officially chosen to be part of the Monday Night Raw roster. After Rollins told Punk in no uncertain terms “I hate you,” he proceeded to call out Punk for abandoning the company nearly a decade ago, saying this wasn’t Punk’s home.

Punk responded by declaring that he would enter the 2024 Royal Rumble, and that when he won, he might choose Rollins as his target for WrestleMania.
