CM Punk's First WWE Match Announced; Will Take Place In A Legendary Venue

CM Punk’s first singles match in WWE is set to take place in the world’s most famous arena.

At Survivor Series on November 25th, CM Punk made a shocking return to WWE for the first time since his acrimonious 2014 exit. Despite reports that Punk’s WWE comeback left numerous talent upset, the star’s demeanor at Monday Night Raw on November 27th was reportedly pleasant and he left a good impression on people backstage.

Punk has made appearances on both Raw and SmackDown since his return, and he even showed up unannounced to NXT Deadline on December 9th. However, he has yet to compete inside the squared circle, and many fans have been wondering when he’ll first lace up his boots for a match inside a WWE ring.

As announced on social media, Punk will compete at the annual Holiday Tour show at Madison Square Garden in New York City on December 26th. The former World Champion’s first WWE opponent in over 9 years will be Dominik Mysterio.

Punk has also been advertised to appear at The Kia Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles on December 30th, also set to face Mysterio at the event.

Since coming back, CM Punk has explained that he returned to WWE for the fans who chanted for him throughout his decade-long absence.

CM Punk Will Enter The 2024 Royal Rumble

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins was visibly upset during his return, though his outburst is reportedly part of an angle to set up a feud between the two men. Rollins has shown no hesitation in furthering personal issues between the two, calling Punk “selfish” and a “fraud.”

On the December 11th edition of Raw, CM Punk and Seth Rollins finally came face to face inside a WWE ring, just after Punk declared that he had officially chosen to be part of the Monday Night Raw roster. After Rollins told Punk in no uncertain terms “I hate you,” he proceeded to call out Punk for abandoning the company nearly a decade ago, saying this wasn’t Punk’s home.

Punk responded by declaring that he would enter the 2024 Royal Rumble, and that when he won, he might choose Rollins as his target for WrestleMania.

In a recent interview, it was revealed that CM Punk and Ace Steel had a notable attorney to represent them in their case against AEW.
