Kane: 2022 Biography, Net Worth, Family, Income

Glenn Thomas Jacobs, better known as Kane, is one of the most recognisable wrestlers on the planet. Born in a small town called Torrejón de Ardoz in Madrid, Spain, his family soon relocated to St. Louis, Missouri, where he grew up as a prominent star of basketball and American football. His impressive height of near seven feet made him a standout in these activities, and eventually led to him training to become a professional wrestler, making his in-ring debut in 1992.

After a flurry of unsuccessful gimmicks including the Christmas Creature, Doctor Isaac Yankem and “Fake Diesel,” Jacobs finally struck gold under the mask of Kane, the estranged brother of The Undertaker. As the story goes, during his childhood, The Undertaker burned down his family home. The blaze killed Undertaker’s parents (in storyline), and was believed to have killed his younger brother Kane too, but this was disproved by Paul Bearer on the 7th of July, 1997 edition of Raw is War. Three months later, Kane would officially debut at In Your House: Badd Blood, where he would rip the door from the Hell in a Cell and hit the Undertaker with his own finishing maneuver: The Tombstone Piledriver.

Kane would go onto having many critically acclaimed feuds with his storyline brother, which involved the two being pitted in several famous gimmick matches, including a Buried Alive match, a Hell in a Cell match, and an Inferno match. He would also become a major part of prominent WWE events and storylines, perhaps the most famous of which was his character’s unmasking in 2002, after having worn a mask for five years. Kane re-masked in 2011 upon entering a feud with John Cena, taking the mask off one more time for a role in heel wrestling faction The Authority under the name “Corporate Kane.”

Over the years, Kane collected several major championships and accolades. As of November 1st, 2022, he holds the record for most Royal Rumble appearances at twenty, as well as most Royal Rumble eliminations, throwing forty-six superstars over the top rope.

Not one for being shy of achievement, he also holds the record for most WWF/E Tag Team Championships won with different partners, having won gold with The Undertaker, Mankind, Big Show, X-Pac, The Hurricane, Rob Van Dam and Daniel Bryan. With these seven partners, Kane would be crowned a Tag Team Champion on twelve separate occasions.

In recent years, Glenn Jacobs has been serving as the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. He has held this position since May 1st, 2018, which has effectively put a hold on his professional wrestling career. The Kane character did make a special one-off appearance during the 2021 Royal Rumble, lasting 1:51 before being eliminated by Damien Priest, but since then has only made very brief cameo appearances in backstage vignettes.
