Former WWE GM Reveals Worst Bump Of Their Career

WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff opened up about the worst injury he suffered during his time in professional wrestling.

In mid-2003, Kane was unmasked after failing to capture the World Heavyweight Championship from Triple H on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Losing his mask turned Kane into even more of an unhinged monster, and the next week, he chokeslammed Raw GM Eric Bischoff off the stage and through a table on the floor.

Speaking on a recent edition of Eric Bischoff Locked & Loaded, Bischoff opened up about the experience, revealing that he didn’t rehearse the massive bump beforehand as he was afraid he would get hurt during any sort of rehearsal.

“When I got chokeslammed off the stage by Kane [in 2003]… Because I’m not that durable, I’m durable enough to do it once because whatever happens happens, and I’ll be good to go for TV in a week or two at the worst… I didn’t like to rehearse because I was afraid I’d get hurt during the rehearsal.”

Continuing, Bischoff explained that he convinced himself he would be able to take the bump without issue even if he didn’t rehearse, but during the live broadcast, he made the mistake of reaching backwards and ended up breaking his thumb in the process. Still, he says he’s the only one to blame for the injury, and he explained why he still believes he’s never been injured by another performer.

“I don’t think that really counts because that was just me being stupid. That wasn’t somebody doing something to me. That was me doing something to myself, so I think the score is actually never happened.”
