New Update On Matt Riddle's Post-WWE Career

Matt Riddle’s non-compete extends beyond professional wrestling.

One of many names released in late September, Riddle could potentially have the most options of any of the former WWE Superstars due to his background in mixed martial arts and wrestling. With appearances in the squared circle and the octagon both a possibility, new information has been provided regarding when and where The Original Bro may turn up next.

As reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Riddle’s people have reached out to multiple pro wrestling, MMA and boxing promotions. So far, the only two that have seemingly expressed interest are the Professional Fighters League and the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. It is also noted that even though neither of these are professional wrestling promotions, the non-compete still extends to other sports, meaning that Riddle is still unable to appear at any sporting event until December.

Crucially, while the former United States Champion is technically a viable option for multiple combat promotions at the end of the year, the controversial circumstances regarding Riddle’s exit will be a significant factor regarding whether or not they want to do business with him.

Riddle was taken off of TV after an incident that took place at JFK Airport in New York City. Following Matt Riddle’s departure, a video emerged of him seen in a seemingly drunken state.

Could Matt Riddle Sign With AEW?

As Riddle is a recognisable name and All Elite Wrestling is the second biggest promotion in the United States, there is a good case to be made that The Original Bro could become All Elite very soon. Wrestling Veteran Konnan was recently asked about his thoughts on the former Tag Team Champion signing with AEW, to which Konnan responded “I don’t think Tony Khan can help himself.”

In a new update announced on November 1st, Matt Riddle has been announced for his first post-WWE event.
