Matt Riddle's First Post-WWE Match Announced; Set To Face Hall Of Famer

Matt Riddle will return to the wrestling ring in March 2024 at the latest.

As announced by Big Time Wrestling, Riddle will be a part of the upcoming event The Reunion 3: Cavalcade of Legends in Chillicothe Ohio on March 9th 2024. The former United States Champion will be taking part in a match at the event and will also be hosting a meet and greet event with the fans in the afternoon before the show.

Riddle’s opponent for the event will be Rob Van Dam in the first time ever encounter. This is currently the only match that has been officially announced for the event. However, multiple legends have been confirmed to make appearances at the show.

With Riddle’s 90-day no-compete set to expire in December, there is also a possibility that the former WWE Star could compete in other promotions prior to the Big Time Wrestling appearance. It has been reported since the release that multiple companies are interested in Matt Riddle when he becomes a free agent.

When Did Matt Riddle Leave WWE?

Following multiple talents being released from their contracts on September 21st, Riddle would inform fans one day later that he had been informed that his services were no longer required.

In 2022, Riddle partnered with Randy Orton and formed the successful tag team RK-Bro. However, following The Viper suffering an injury, Riddle would be creatively stifled and found himself losing repeatedly to Seth Rollins and Gunther.

Following a string of incidents, the final straw seemingly came when Matt Riddle was seen allegedly intoxicated and acting inappropriately at an airport.
