Carlito is set to be a regular feature of WWE television.
At Fastlane, Carlito made his latest return to WWE. The star came to the rescue of Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar as they took on Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits. Just 24 hours earlier, the Street Profits took out Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde on SmackDown meaning they missed the event.
Following the attack, Mysterio said he’d be making a call, and that call was to the former United States and Intercontinental Champion.
After making his return to a massive reaction, Carlito took out Lashley and the Profits, picking up the win for the LWO with a Backstabber.
It’s now been confirmed by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that Carlito will appear on SmackDown as part of the LWO going forward. The report adds there had been plans for the star to make an on-screen months earlier, but these were dropped.
WWE has since confirmed Carlito will be part of SmackDown.
When Did Carlito Re-sign With WWE?
Carlito made his first WWE appearance in more than two years at Backlash on a crazy night in Puerto Rico where he again came to help the LWO. This impressive reaction led to fans calling for the star to be brought back on a more permanent basis.
It was then reported in June that WWE had done just that, however, his full return was delayed significantly.
