Carlito’s WWE Future Decided

Savio Vega with LWO celebrating Bad Bunny at WWE Backlash Carlito Rey Mysterio Santos Escobar Joaquin Wilde Cruz del Toro

Carlito is back with WWE and heading to SmackDown.

The star made his long-awaited return to television at Fastlane as Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar’s mystery tag team partner to face Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits.

24 hours earlier, the Street Profits had taken out Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde on SmackDown, leading Mysterio to call for backup.

Mysterio and Escobar started the match outnumbered, and were utterly demolished by their opponents. However, Mysterio managed to earn some breathing room, only to realise he had no one to tag after Escobar had been left laying.

This opened the door for Carlito to run in, receiving a huge ovation as he received the hottest of hot tags. Once in the ring the returning star quickly gained the upper hand and hit the Backstabber to score the win.

In the days after the show it was reported that Carlito would be heading to SmackDown to join up with the LWO, and the move has now been confirmed on WWE.com.

When Did Carlito Re-sign?

THe LWO member made his first appearance in more than two years at Backlash 2023 on a crazy night in Puerto Rico where he again came to help the LWO. This impressive reaction led to fans calling for the star to be brought back on a more permanent basis.

It was then reported in June that the company had done just that, however, his full return was delayed significantly.

Carlito believes he could have returned to the promotion even sooner if not for a miscommunication between the two sides. In a new interview, Carlito has named a move that is so painful he won’t execute it again.
