Kevin Nash Slams Modern Wrestling: “No One Cares About The Young Guys”

Kevin Nash Slams Modern Wrestling:

Kevin Nash expressed his belief that the younger generation of WWE talent is not on the same as their older counterparts.

In an interview with Sporting News, Kevin Nash specifically addressed the criticism surrounding the match between Triple H and The Undertaker at WWE Super Show-Down, which took place in October 2018.

According to Nash, matches between two ageing wrestlers still manages to captivate audiences, whereas pairing older wrestlers with younger talent fails to generate the same level of interest. Nash stated:

No one cares about the young guys. When I watched SummerSlam, that package (Undertaker and Tripe H) caught my eye and made me want to see that match. I don’t know if I want to see Roman Reigns versus Undertaker again. What more of a rub can you give than that? He’s been given rubs before and they just aren’t getting over.

When questioned about what the younger wrestlers could do to elevate themselves to the level required, Nash expressed doubts about the possibility of finding individuals with the longevity of the previous generation. He mentioned that the current style of wrestling does not allow for long careers and highlighted the increased concern for concussions in the industry. Nash concluded:

I just don’t think there’s going to be guys like that anymore. Those guys aren’t going to have 30 years in the business. This style won’t allow these guys to last 30 years. Rollins already had a couple of knee operations, but he’s a great worker. I just don’t see these guys even lasting 20 years because of their bodies and the concussion syndrome. Now, they (WWE) are doing concussion testing and everything else.

What Else Has Kevin Nash Said About Modern Wrestling?

Kevin Nash also previously stated that modern wrestling looks “too fake.” Nash believes that all the current wrestlers go too fast and don’t sell the effects of the moves properly.
