Orange Cassidy Wins International Title

Orange Cassidy entrance on AEW Dynamite

Orange Cassidy is the International Champion once again.

Heading into Dynamite on October 10th, Rey Fenix had been scheduled to defend the gold against Jon Moxley. Fenix pinned Moxley at Grand Slam in controversial circumstances after the former World Champion suffered a concussion during the match.

Jon Moxley had been scheduled to retain but changed the finish of the match in the ring.

During the buy-in for Dynamite, Tony Khan revealed that Jon Moxley was still suffering the effects of the injury and wouldn’t be able to compete as planned. This paved the way for Cassidy to get a shot at winning back the title he lost to Moxley at All Out.

After a back-and-forth encounter, Cassidy got the win following an Orange Punch and Mouse Trap pin. The loss ended Fenix’s unplanned reign at just 20 days.

Orange Cassidy Wasn’t The Only New Champion Crowned On Dynamite

The October 10th episode of Dynamite was promoted as “Title Tuesday” and it certainly lived up to the billing. As well as Orange Cassidy regaining the International Title, Hikaru Shida became Women’s World Champion for the third time — becoming the only three-time Women’s Champion in company history in the process.

Shida got the better of Saraya to win back the title she lost to the British star at All In.

Elsewhere on the show, Adam Copeland made a winning start to life in AEW, overcoming Luchasaurus, while Bryan Danielson became the number one contender for the TNT Title by overcoming Swerve Strickland.
