Chris Jericho Reacts To Violent AEW Match: “You’ll Never See Another Like It”

Chris Jericho Reacts To Violent AEW Match:

Chris Jericho has given high praise to an AEW match that has divided opinions.

Although multiple championships changed hands and MJF became the first World Champion to hold the title for over a year at Full Gear, everyone will remember the show for the brutal Texas Death Match between Adam Page and Swerve Strickland. Bloody, brutal and emotional, some fans found parts of the match uncomfortable to watch at times.

With fans in Los Angeles firmly behind the match and drained when all was said and done, whoever was on next had a tough act to follow. Unfortunately for Jericho, his tag team match featuring Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks was put in that position.

Speaking on Talk is Jericho, the former AEW World Champion described his thoughts on the violent match between Page and Strickland. When referencing the infamous blood-drinking spot, Jericho revealed that it is not something that ever plans on doing in any of his matches:

I mean Swerve and Hangman was so batsh*t crazy. You’ll never see another match like that. It was probably one of the most violent bloodiest matches of all time, I still can’t get the image of Hangman drinking Swerve’s blood, so disgusting. I don’t think I would ever do that it’s something out of a horror movie or something. But, you know, so once again, you know, how do you follow that?

Jericho stated that it was followed by the story of Kenny Omega being indecisive on who he wanted to side with as was friends with Jericho and The Bucks going into the match.

Jericho was not the only one who was proud of the match, as Swerve Strickland was happy with his performance at AEW Full Gear, describing the match as theatre.
