AEW Dynamite Results – December 13, 2023 (Winter Is Coming)

It was AEW Dynamite featuring four more Continental Classic matches including Jon Moxley facing Swerve Strickland in the main event.

This episode took place at the College Park Center in Arlington (Dallas), Texas. The announcers were Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz.

Samoa Joe did a promo accusing “Hangman” Adam Page as the guy that attacked MJF last week and that Hangman is The Devil. Page interrupted Joe’s promo to say he had nothing to do with it. Roderick Strong interrupted to say that he thought MJF was The Devil. Page fought with Strong since they had a match up next.

Match #1:“Hangman” Adam Page defeated Roderick Strong (w/Matt Taven & Bennett) by pinfall. Strong’s buddies tried to interfere multiple times, but Page was able to take care of them with a moonsault on the floor. Page hit a Deadeye slam for the pinfall win.

Match #2: Andrade El Idolo defeated Brody King by pnifall in a Continental Classic Blue League match. Andrade hit a DDT-style move on the steel connecting the turnbuckle to the ring post. Andrade hit a Hammerlock DDT to win. Andrade is 3-0 and King is 2-1 in the Continental Classic tournament.

The Golden Jets duo of Kenny Omega & Chris Jericho did an in-ring promo about how they have earned an AEW Tag Team Title match. The champions Ricky Starks & Big Bill did a promo from the stage. Omega said that their team will get the title match at the AEW Worlds End PPV on December 30th. Jericho tried to come up with tag team names for Bill & Starks, but there wasn’t anything good other than telling the champions they are a**holes. Jericho said when he looks at Starks with Bill he sees a better dressed, less charismatic version of Enzo Amore. The fans reacted to that. Starks said that they are sick of Jericho & Omega. It ended after that without any physicality.

Match #3: Riho defeated Ruby Soho by pinfall. Riho won with a double knee attack. Toni Storm was on commentary, so Riho was pointing at her saying she was coming after Storm’s AEW Women’s Title.

A video aired about Wardlow saying he has left a path of pure mayhem. Wardlow bragged about destroying everybody. Wardlow said he will be the one to bring The Devil to his knees and that MJF’s world is coming to an end.

Match #4: Rush defeated Jay Lethal by pinfall in a Continental Classic Gold League match. Rush won with a sleeper/rear naked choke with a body scissors and Lethal tapped out. Rush is 2-2 in the Continental Classic while Jay Lethal is 0-4 as the biggest loser in the tournament.

Match #5: Jay White deafeated Mark Brisceo by pinfall in a Continental Classic Gold League match. White got his knees up to block a Froggy Bow elbow by Briscoe. White hit the Bladerunner on Briscoe for the pinfall win. Jay White is 3-1 in the Continental Classic while Mark Briscoe is 0-4.

Match #6:Jon Moxley defeated Swerve Strickland by pinfall in a Continental Classic Gold League match. Swerve hit the Swerve Stomp off the top rope, but Moxley kicked out at two. Moxley countered a move, sat on top of Swerve and Moxley held the tights for added leverage. Jon Moxley is 4-0 with 12 points in the Continental Classic while Swerve Strickland is 3-1.

There was a parking lot scene with “Hangman” Adam Page fighting against masked assailants. It was four people beating up Hangman. The Devil appeared standing by a car, so the wrestlers slammed Page on the windshield of a car. Page was selling the pain on the car. End of show.
