WWE Raw Delivers

This week on WWE Raw saw CM Punk decide his future brand, Drew McIntyre vs. Jey Uso, Cody Rhodes vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and more.

Raw took place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio with Michael Cole and Wade Barrett on commentary.

Jey Uso did a promo saying that he got “YEET” back since that trademark issue ended. Jey is happy about CM Punk being there. Jey gave a shoutout to Sami Zayn, who was storyline injured by Drew McIntyre last week. Drew interrupted saying they don’t want CM Punk in the locker room because they know he’s a bad guy. Drew apologized to Zayn, but said he left him with one good leg. Drew mocked Jey for his hand motion and for making up a stupid word. Jey had enough and said it was time for a “Yeetdown” so the match was on.

Match #1:Drew McIntyre defeated Jey Uso by pinfall. Drew took the turnbuckle pad off, the referee tried to put it back on so Drew did some eye gouging to Jey without the referee seeing it. Drew hit a Claymore Kick to win.

The Judgment Day was backstage in the locker room bickering about recent losses like JD McDonagh & Dominik Mysterio losing to The Creed Brothers last week and Dominik losing his NXT North American Title. Damian Priest & Rhea Ripley argued a bit about being a leader.

Match #2: Rhea Ripley defeated Maxxine Dupri (w/Ivy Nile) by submission. Ripley hit her Riptide slam but didn’t go for a pin. Ripley applied the Prism Lock for the submission win. After the match, Nile had a staredown with Ripley, who just laughed at Nile.

Adam Pearce, the Raw General Manager, was shown knocking on the dressing room door of CM Punk. Pearce went into the room leading to a commercial break.

CM Punk did a promo announcing that he is signing with the Raw brand. Punk talked about his history in Cleveland including when he walked out of WWE in Cleveland in January 2014. Raw GM Adam Pearce was in the ring with Punk and Punk signed the contract in the ring.

Seth “Freakin” Rollins, the World Heavyweight Champion, interrupted the CM Punk promo and had a long staredown with Punk. Rollins did a promo saying that this isn’t Punk’s home because this is Seth’s home. Seth Rollins told CM Punk: “I hate you.” Rollins said that maybe one day they can meet in the ring for a match and Rollins will expose Punk for the fraud that he is. Rollins said he’ll show Punk what it means to be the Best in the World.

CM Punk replied to Rollins saying that was his one free time to disrespect Punk without any consequence. Punk said that he is entering the Royal Rumble. Punk said that when he wins the Rumble, he may choose to face Rollins. Punk left the ring without a physical confrontation.

Match #3: Bronson Reed defeated Ivar by pinfall. Reed won the battle of the superheavyweights with a top rope superplex. Reed put one arm on the chest for the cover as both guys sold it like the superplex took a lot out of them.

CM Punk was walking backstage when he saw the four male members of The Judgment Day. Punk asked where was Rhea Ripley? Damian Priest welcomed Punk to Raw and said that he hopes Punk is the one to finish the story because when he does, Priest will be waiting to cash in with the Money in the Bank briefcase.

The Judgment Day did an in-ring promo bragging about their greatness. R-Truth interrupted so Damian Priest invited Truth into the ring. Priest said everybody likes Truth except him and Priest clotheslined Truth. The Creed Brothers made the save by taking out all four male members of The Judgment Day and The Creeds cleared J-Day from the ring.

Match #4: Kayden Carter & Katana Chance defeated Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell by pinfall. Chance & Carter did a 450 splash/neckbreaker combo called the After Party with Chance getting the pinfall win.

Becky Lynch did an in-ring promo talking about her history with Nia Jax that included Jax giving Lynch a broken nose five years ago. Lynch said that they have never wrestled. Jax joined Lynch in the ring to say that punch five years ago made Lynch a bigger star. Lynch said this is the narrative that she needs to change. Lynch told Jax she was lying for thinking that the punch made Lynch a bigger star. When Lynch called for Jax to fight her, Jax said that Lynch needed this more than Jax and Jax left. There was no physical contact.

Match #5: The Miz, Tommaso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano defeated Imperium – GUNTHER, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci by pinfall. The Miz hit Skull Crushing Finale on Vinci for the win.

In the backstage area, The Miz challenged GUNTHER for an Intercontinental Title match. GUNTHER said he would grant Miz the match, but if Miz loses then he can’t challenge GUNTHER again. Miz said “Done” to show that he accepted those terms.

Match #6: Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by disqualification. Cody was going for Cross Rhodes when Nakamura got out of it and Nakamura spit the red mist in Cody’s face, so it was a DQ ending.

After the match, Nakamura attacked Cody with kicks and a knee to the back of the head. The Creed Brothers went to the ring to help Cody, so Nakamura backed away. Referees helped Cody clear the mist out of his face. When Cody left the ring, Nakamura hit a running knee to knock Cody down. Nakamura left with a smile on his face to end the show.
