Jey Uso Lists Surprising Goal As His Top WWE Priority

Jey Uso’s first singles WWE Championship win is not what some fans might expect.

Known for the majority of his career as a tag team specialist alongside brother Jimmy, Uso is living up to the “Main Event” moniker by headlining multiple Premium Live Events and forging his own path away from his brother. While Uso has previously won the Tag Team Championships alongside Cody Rhodes, an unexpected goal is next on the list.

Following the shock departure from The Bloodline, many fans would expect Uso to target Roman Reigns, dethrone The Tribal Chief and become the new Undisputed Champion. However, Uso has a different championship in mind first, one that is closer to his family.

Speaking with Billboard, Uso revealed that he wants to win the Intercontinental Championship more than ever other accolade as his father and uncle have previously held the gold along with his favourite wrestlers:

“The first singles championship on the top of my list is the IC [Intercontinental Championship] title. Gunther gonna have to run that. Everybody over there. He likes the Tribal Chief, you see what I do to the Tribal Chief? I don’t give a damn, let’s run that. My dad was an IC champion, my uncle, Umaga IC champion. Shawn Michaels. My favorite wrestler, the greatest, Razor Ramon. All the greats held the Intercontinental Championship and I’m trying to get that. That’s Pay-Per-View material right there,”

Jey Uso Reunited With An Old Friend

One storyline that captivated fans throughout 2023 was the relationship between Uso and Sami Zayn. At first reluctant to accept Zayn as an honorary Uce, the friendship would go through highs and lows in the lead-up to WrestleMania, where Zayn and Kevin Owens defeated The Usos on night one to become the new Tag Team Champions. Following Jey Uso being traded to WWE Raw in September, he would reunite with Sami Zayn in a wholesome moment.

In a separate interview, Jey Uso issued a challenge to a top AEW tag team.
