Sami Zayn: 2022 Biography, Net Worth, Family, Income

Rami Sebei better known as Sami Zayn is a Canadian professional wrestler, currently signed to WWE. The WWE Superstar was born in Laval, Quebec, Canada on July 12th 1984.

Zayn is one of the most well-respected and much-loved performers in the business. His run on the independent circuit is legendary and his mic and character work is up there with the best.

Zayn began his wrestling journey in 2002 debuting on the Canadian scene as El Generico, a masked Luchador who barely spoke. As well as making a name for himself as one of the best wrestlers around, this is where he met his long-time friend/enemy and now fellow WWE Superstar Kevin Owens. The two struck up a rivalry that set the independent world alight and followed them throughout their careers.

Zayn’s fame rose swiftly and he soon appeared regularly for CZW, CHIKARA, PWG, and ROH. While there he captured the PWG World Tag Team Championships five times and the World Championship twice. In ROH he won the Tag Team and Television Championship’s once.

In 2013 WWE came knocking and signed him to NXT. He debuted that same year without the mask and the new name of Sami Zayn. He quickly became the brand’s top babyface and the fans supported him all the way to the NXT Championship. That same night, Kevin Owens made his debut and attacked Zayn adding NXT to their career-long feud.

Zayn made his main roster debut in front of his hometown against John Cena in May 2015, followed by a Royal Rumble appearance. Since joining WWE’s flagship shows Zayn has established himself as one of the company’s most entertaining acts.

In 2020 he won the Intercontinental Championship, a title he would win a further two times, arguably his biggest in-ring accomplishment thus far. He has had programmes with the likes of the Undertaker, Bobby Lashley, Kevin Owens, AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns to name but a few.

Most recently he has been performing as part of The Bloodline, after affectionately becoming known as the “Honorary Uce.” The story has been a big hit with fans as he continues his stellar 2022 off the back of a memorable WrestleMania outing against Johnny Knoxville.
