Jade Cargill’s WWE in-ring debut is inching ever closer.

The October 13th episode of SmackDown was stacked with star power and a number of huge announcements. The show featured the debut of Nick Aldis, Kevin Owens was moved to the blue brand, and Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns crossed paths for the first time in months.

Meanwhile, there were also some major developments in the women’s division.

In a backstage segment, Triple H confirmed that Charlotte Flair will meet Iyo Sky for the Women’s Title on October 20th. Just as Flair turned around to leave, she turned straight into Jade Cargill.

Triple H attempted to make an introduction but it quickly became clear it wasn’t needed. Flair said that the pleasure was all hers before Cargill confidently replied “Oh, it will be”

This was the first time that Cargill has interacted with another WWE Superstar on television since her move from AEW. The star has previously been seen backstage at Fastlane and NXT.

Another WWE star who is keeping a close eye on Jade Cargill is World Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley. The Australian star says she is excited at the idea of facing Cargill if she lands on Raw.

When Did Jade Cargill Sign With WWE?

On September 26th, WWE announced via ESPN that Jade Cargill had signed a multi-year deal with the company. WWE hailed the signing of Cargill as a major coup, immediately positioning her as one of the biggest female stars in the company.

Cargill had been a free agent after allowing her AEW contract to expire earlier that month. During an absence from AEW through the summer, the promotion made multiple attempts to agree on a contract extension, however, it quickly became clear that Cargill wanted to move to WWE.

Tony Khan later confirmed he made “two very big” offers to the star.

The former TBS Champion’s final AEW match was aired on the September 15th episode of Rampage.

Taking a further step towards the impending debut, Jade Cargill has filed for multiple trademarks.
