Nick Aldis Makes WWE Debut

Nick Aldis on WWE SmackDown

Nick Aldis will be playing a major role on WWE television.

Ahead of the October 13th episode of SmackDown, it was announced that Triple H would be making a special appearance. However, there was no word on what The Game would be doing on the blue brand.

At the mid-way point, Triple H arrived to his usual big ovation and wasted little time in getting down to business. WWE’s Chief Content Officer praised Adam Pearce who was in the ring for his contribution to running Raw and SmackDown over the last three years. But he added that no one should have to do all that work alone.

Triple H then announced that Pearce would be getting promoted to become the General Manager of Raw. Before the SmackDown GM could be announced Dominik Mysterio came out to complain about Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso putting their Undisputed Tag Team titles on the line just days before their match The Judgment Day on October 16th.

After a back-and-forth, Triple H brought SmackDown’s General Manager to the ring to deal with Mysterio, and that person was Nick Aldis.

The former NWA Worlds Champion said his first act as GM was to complete the trade set up Cody Rhodes bringing Jey Uso to Raw. Aldis then introduced WWE SmackDown’s newest Superstar Kevin Owens. KO got straight down to business, hitting Mysterio with a Stunner.

Following the show, Nick Aldis commented on his new position, saying it was “a huge thrill”.

Was Nick Aldis Already Working With WWE?

Back in August, it was revealed that Nick Aldis had begun working backstage in WWE as a producer, although there was no word on whether the role would be permanent. As recently as October 8th, Aldis described his status as a full-time producer as “still pending.”

The British star moved to WWE after a short spell with IMPACT Wrestling.
