Charlotte Flair will have another chance to Women’s Title wins on SmackDown.
The season premiere episode of SmackDown on October 13th saw a wave of change wash over the blue brand. On the show, Nick Aldis was revealed as the new General Manager, Kevin Owens was confirmed as part of the roster, and LA Knight got the attention of Roman Reigns.
Also on the show, Bayley took on Zelina Vega, picking up the win in under three minutes. After the match, Bayley and the rest of Damage CTRL attacked Vega, but she found a friend in the form of Charlotte Flair who ran to her aid.
Backstage, Flair was seen in Aldis’ office and it was confirmed she’ll face Iyo Sky for the Women’s Title on October 20th.
The Queen last wrestled for the gold at Fastlane where she lost out in a Triple Threat Match also involving Asuka.
Charlotte Flair Meets Jade Cargill
During the segment backstage, Charlotte Flair also came face to face with Jade Cargill. As Flair turned to leave Nick Aldis’ office she walked straight into WWE’s recent big signing.
Triple H attempted to make an introduction but it quickly became clear it wasn’t needed. Flair said that the pleasure was all hers before Cargill confidently replied “Oh, it will be”
This was the first time that Cargill had interacted with another WWE Superstar on television since her move from AEW. The star has previously been seen backstage at Fastlane and NXT.
On September 26th, WWE announced via ESPN that Jade Cargill had signed a multi-year deal with the company. WWE hailed the signing of Cargill as a major coup, immediately positioning her as one of the biggest female stars in the company.
