Ronda Rousey Leaving WWE “Relatively Soon”

Ronda Rousey won’t be sticking around in WWE for much longer.

It was reported in July that Rousey had given WWE a “hard out” date for when she wants to leave, and it seems that date is edging ever nearer. Rousey is currently wrapped up in a feud with real-life friend Shayna Baszler and the pair are due to meet at SummerSlam.

This has led to speculation that Rousey could be set to lose that match and then leave the world of sports entertainment altogether.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that while there’s been no confirmation that the match in Detroit will be Rousey’s last action in a WWE ring, she is expected to leave “relatively soon.”

“It’s not confirmed whether this is Rousey’s last match in WWE for the time being, but her departure is coming relatively soon since they had to rush the turn angle.”

In recent news, Dave Meltzer revealed that there were apparent issues between WWE creative and Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler about their SummerSlam match.

Is Ronda Rousey Going Back To WWE?

The speculation around her WWE future has led to claims that the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet’ could be set to make a sensation return to UFC. Chelsea Chandler recently suggested Rousey was plotting a comeback, but this time in a new weight division.

However, it’s since been reported that Ronda Rousey will not be returning to UFC.

Rousey originally signed with WWE in 2017 and took her first steps as a full-time Superstar at the 2018 Royal Rumble appearing at the end of the show. While Rousey was praised for her first run which lasted until WrestleMania 35, things have proved much more difficult the second time around. She’s been heavily criticised for her performances and “Fire Ronda Rousey” trended on social media for a number of days following a poorly received match at Survivor Series in 2022.
