“I’m So Damn Proud” – Britt Baker Details Adam Cole’s Gruelling Recovery From Injury

Britt Baker and Adam Cole win the Owen Hart Memorial Tournament at AEW Double or Nothing

After over six months since his last match in the company, Adam Cole made a sensational return to AEW on this week’s Dynamite and announced his imminent return to in-ring action.

Adam Cole endured an injury-ridden 2022 including issues with his shoulder and back-to-back concussions, the latter coming at AEW’s Forbidden Door event during a Four-way match against Jay White, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

Following his second serious head injury, Cole was sidelined indefinitely with serious questions surrounding his in-ring future, some speculation even suggested that the former NXT star may be forced to retire due to his injuries.

Britt Baker Comments On Adam Cole’s AEW Return

However, Adam Cole revealed he has been cleared to return to action during an emotional promo on this past Wednesday’s Dynamite.

After receiving a huge pop from the AEW audience, Cole detailed the battles he has been through over the past few months, including not being able to travel in a car for more than fifteen minuted without feeling nauseous or vomiting.

He also detailed the fears and anxiety he felt, often waking up in the middle of the night and being unable to explain to his partner, Britt Baker, what was wrong with him.

Thankfully, Cole’s promo concluded with the positive news that he will return to in-ring action soon and vowed to be at the top of the mountain in AEW in the near future.

Following his return, Cole’s real-life parter Britt Baker took to Twitter to comment on his return, expressing how proud she is of him for overcoming his recent battles.

Baker tweeted:

“For months the only time @AdamColePro left the house was to go to bran(sic)/physical therapy appointments. There was a time he wasn’t allowed to fly on planes or do anything more than go for a walk. I’m so damn proud of how hard he worked every single day to get back to you all.”

Baker also appeared on this week’s Dynamite, tagging with AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter to defeat the team of Saraya and Toni Storm.

Cole has praised Baker for her support in the past, and thanked her during his speech when receiving the KultureCity Human Highlight Award for overcoming his struggles to return to the ring.
