New Wrestling Documentary On AEW Star Saraya’s Family Announced

Saraya Knight Ricky Knight Zak Zodiac AEW All In

Another documentary chronicling AEW star Saraya and her family is in the works.

Back in 2012, the Knight family were the subject of a well-received documentary called The Wrestlers: Fighting With My Family. The documentary inspired a feature film about the Knight family that was produced by Dwayne ‘The Rock‘ Johnson, and the end of the documentary came just as Saraya’s journey with WWE began.

In the years that followed the documentary, the young star went on to find great success in WWE performing as Paige, and despite being told in 2017 that she needed to retire from wrestling due to a severe neck injury, she is now signed to All Elite Wrestling and returned to action at Full Gear in 2022. Her family accompanied her to celebrate her AEW Women’s Championship win at All In inside Wembley Stadium in August of 2023.

Fighting For My Family Will Focus On Saraya’s Brother Zak Zodiac

According to a new press release, Lambda Films is producing a new documentary to continue the story of the Knight family’s time in the British independent wrestling scene following Saraya’s move to the United States. Lambda Films’ creative director Ryan Stone had this to say about the upcoming project:

“This isn’t merely a continuation of a known tale—it’s a crucial narrative that rounds off an unfinished epic. With the pro-wrestling scene gathering momentum in the UK, the timing couldn’t be more apt. As wrestling giants like AEW and WWE make significant moves, the spotlight is back on the arena.”

The new documentary, titled Fighting For My Family, is set to focus on Saraya’s brother Zak Zodiac. The press release provides the following description of the film:

“Set against the raw canvas of Britain’s often-misconstrued pro-wrestling scene, the upcoming documentary paints a poignant picture of a world where ordinary individuals confront extraordinary challenges, all in search of acceptance, camaraderie, and the tantalising allure of stardom. Tormented by unresolved traumas, Zak ‘Zodiac’ Knight grapples with emotional turmoil and severe physical debilitation, pushing him out of the ring and into a life of isolation and despair.”

Ryan Stone explained why it’s so important to tell Zodiac’s story, noting that his struggles with mental health could help others in similar situations.

“Zak wants his story told. He has been so open and honest about his struggles with mental health and how it affected him personally, and his family. There is a lot of helpful advice, information and hope in this project for those who might be feeling similar. From our perspective, we are hopeful for the fairytale ending to this documentary – Zak being signed to one of the big league American wrestling companies – and this is currently very close to becoming a reality.”
