Adam Page’s AEW Collision Ban Could Have Come From Tony Khan

A new report has claimed the call for Adam Page to be removed from AEW Collision could have come directly from Tony Khan.

Hangman Adam Page had been due to attend the August 12th episode of AEW Collision to work on a pre-tape for Dynamite but was turned away from the venue and sent elsewhere when he arrived. This information came to light after CM Punk appeared to very publicly reignite the real-life feud between the pair after the show went off the air, taking a jab at Page during a promo after spotting a sign supporting the star.

The show was followed by reports that Punk had been involved in either keeping away or removing other AEW stars and Head of Talent Relations Christopher Daniels from Collision. This naturally lead many to believe that the two-time AEW World Champion had been involved in the decision to remove Page.

However, according to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, things might not have been that straightforward. Alvarez noted that there are some who feel the decision came not from Punk, but from Tony Khan.

“There were claims that he said that he did not have Hangman removed or not allowed to be at the building on Saturday. Obviously, many people in the company believed that he did. Although I did hear from people that said they would not be surprised that because of what happened earlier with Ryan Nemeth that it was in fact management’s call or Tony Khan’s to not have Hangman come to the building after what happened to Ryan Nemeth.

I did talk to people who think that could be true and that Punk had nothing to do with it, and that decision was made because of what happened with Nemeth. They figured let’s not have any more issues here, Hangman does not need to be in the building for this, let’s have him go elsewhere. There are people who believe this is true and there are people who don’t and believe it was Punk. But Punk’s side is claiming they are not responsible for Hangman not being allowed in the building.”

What Next For CM Punk And Tony Khan?

Despite the problems, it’s been reported that CM Punk has apologised to Adam Page via text message. Furthermore, AEW sees Punk as incredibly important to the success of Collision and believes his presence will help with media rights negotiations. As a result, the company is doing “everything they can” to keep the star happy.

Tony Khan declined to publicly comment on the issue.
