Sheamus Dealing With A “Really Bad” Injury

Sheamus

Sheamus is set for a spell on the sidelines.

The former World Champion hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by Edge on the August 18th episode of SmackDown. The match took place in Toronto, Canada, and was teased as the last match of Edge’s career.

Although his partners in the Brawling Brutes have remained on television, Sheamus has quietly gone missing. It’s now been reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that the star is dealing with a “really bad” shoulder injury which has prevented him from appearing at live events as well as SmackDown.

“Seamus [has a] really bad shoulder injury by the way. That’s why he hasn’t been on TV or at house shows.”

Recently, WWE has begun advertising Shemaus for SmackDown tapings in November and December 2023.

Sheamus WWE Deal To Expire In 2024

Ever since his match with Sheamus, there’s been a great deal of speculation and controversy around Edge’s WWE future. In a move to try and calm the speculation, the man himself said there were no issues between himself and the company and even had an offer from them sitting in his inbox.

However, it’s since been reported that Edge and WWE are “not close on money.”

There have also been similar reports that Drew McIntyre could leave the company in 2024, as he’s also not close to agreeing terms on a new contract. As it turns out, these contract issues aren’t isolated cases.

On September 20th it was reported that the contracts of both Sheamus and Becky Lynch are set to run out in 2024. There’s no word on negotiations between Sheamus, Lynch, and WWE.
