Major Update On Andrade El Idolo’s Return To AEW

Andrade El Idolo

Andrade El Idolo should be back in AEW sooner than later.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, El Idolo’s return to the company is imminent and it looks like he’ll have a home on AEW Collision. El Idolo was indeed one of the featured players on the poster for the new series beginning on June 17 and has been at the past two TV tapings for AEW Dynamite. The original plan was for El Idolo to do a backstage segment similar to Thunder Rosa or Miro where he is seen walking into Tony Khan’s office in an effort to hype “Collision.” However, Fightful was told that for some reason, El Idolo didn’t want to do such a segment, but did film something on May 17 for social media.

Andrade El Idolo’s Heath Status

Andrade has been on the shelf for all of 2023 due to a torn pectoral muscle he suffered while competing in the AEW Trios Titles Qualifier tournament at AEW House Of The Dragon back in August. He ended up getting surgery done in December and Fightful reports that he’s been getting ring ready since last month.

Like some of the other name stars in AEW, El Idolo has been a part of his own controversy backstage. A spat between him and Sammy Guevara ended up being beneficial for him as he was suspended from the company for allegedly throwing punches at Guevara. According to El Idolo, the days off led to him getting his first ever surgery done. Davel Meltzer from an earlier report said that the confrontation El Idolo had with Sammy Guevara was an effort by El Idolo to get fired from the company.
