Andrade El Idolo Says “These Days Off” Enabled Him To Get Surgery

Andrade El Idolo

Andrade El Idolo has revealed that he recently underwent surgery as his absence from AEW continues. While the star hasn’t wrestled for the promotion since All Out back in September, he has remained firmly in the headlines.

Ahead of the October 5th edition of AEW Dynamite Andrade was sent home from the taping following an altercation with Sammy Guevara. The tension had been brewing between the pair for a number of days after Guevara took offence at comments made the star in an interview. This led to a very public spat on Twitter, and ended with Andrade trying to punch Guevara when the pair next saw each other.

Although there has been no official comment on Andrade’s status with AEW, it was recently noted that he has been suspended. The star followed this with a cryptic post on social media about saying goodbye. Whatever the reason for his recent inactivity, Andrade has now revealed that the break has enabled him to get surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle. In the post the star said that he suffered the injury a few months ago but finished the match. He added that “many people do not value” this effort.

“My first surgery I can’t believe it happened. A few months ago, I tore my pectoral muscle.

Thanks god! I could and wanted to finish my match. I kept working because I love the business but we know that many people do not value your effort, these days off I took the opportunity to go to Dr.”

Following the altercation with Guevara it was reported that Andrade was attempting to get fired in order to force a move back to WWE. In Andrade’s absence Sammy Guevara has remained a regular feature on AEW television, most recently challenging for the ROH World Title at Full Gear.
