WWE Star Believes Charlotte Flair Missing WrestleMania Will Create A Huge Opportunity

A WWE Superstar believes that the injury that occurred to Charlotte Flair could lead to another wrestler getting their own time in the spotlight.

Unfortunately in wrestling, injuries are an occupational hazard and can sideline stars for a lengthy period of time. Following Charlotte Flair’s recent injury, it was announced by WWE that the former Women’s Champion will be out of action for 9 months and will therefore miss WrestleMania.

Although no one wants to see injuries occur in wrestling, the show must go on. With plans being unexpectedly changed, many wrestlers have seen great benefits from others being unable to compete. In 2016, Kevin Owens became the Universal Champion when Finn Balor was forced to vacate the title 24 hours after becoming the inaugural champion. Additionally, had Mustafa Ali not gotten injured then Kofi Mania would likely have not occurred 3 years later.

Former Women’s Champion Bianca Belair has yet to have a one-on-one battle with The Queen on the grand stage of a Premium Live Event. With many predicting that Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley are likely to collide at WrestleMania 40, fans also included Flair vs. Belair on their fantasy cards for the Philadelphia event.

Speaking with ROAR Around The Ring, Belair acknowledged the achievements of Flair and is gutted that she won’t be a part of The Show of Shows:

“It is a huge blow. Charlotte Flair has been such a vital part of our women’s roster. She’s created so much history. She’s a legend. I’m not even gonna say a legend in the making. With the accolades that she has, she’s a legend. It’s really hard knowing that we’ve lost someone like Charlotte Flair right now for nine months.

Belair continued, stating how she is still chasing that match with Flair but is aware that someone will have to take Flair’s place in April:

Me selfishly, we all know I’ve always looked up to Charlotte Flair, I’ve always wanted to have a dream match against her, with her, it doesn’t matter as long as I can be in the ring with her. But it does open up an opportunity for someone else, and that’s just the way this business is. I always say, you gotta stay ready so you don’t have to get ready. You never know when your opportunity’s gonna come, whether it’s your time, whether it’s another spot that opens up.

So we’ll have to see who steps up. At the end of the day, we’re all fighting for a spot at WrestleMania. So I’m even looking for my path to WrestleMania, ‘Am I gonna be on WrestleMania this year?’ So it’s very unfortunate, but it’s a spot that’s opened up for someone to shine,”

Charlotte Flair Extends WWE Deal

2024 could be one of the most important years in wrestling history when it comes to negotiating new deals with promotions. According to a new report, Charlotte Flair is the latest name to be confirmed as a part of the WWE roster for the foreseeable future.

H/t to Fightful.
