Exclusive: Rob Van Dam Praises The Rock & Chris Jericho For Commendable Quality

Rob Van Dam In AEW

Rob Van Dam has acheived everythig one possibily could in pro wrestling, but does wish he had one quality that is shared by The Rock and Chris Jericho.

On an Inside The Ropes exclusive courtesy of the upcoming new episode “1 Of A Kind With RVD” Rob Van Dam talks about the work ethic of Chris Jericho after saying to Bill Apter that he’d like to face Jericho in AEW. Van Dam credits Y2J for not only juggling his time with AEW full-time, but being in Fozzy and writing books too. That sparks Mr. Monday Night to mention The Rock.

“He was the highest paid actor in the industry, which is amazing. I pointed out that a lot of people. Automatically, ‘basic thinkers’ would just be like, ‘Must be nice.’ And I even think, ‘Wow, I’d work one movie and you’d have a hard time getting me to work again,’ but to get to that point, man, that motherf*cker works so hard.

“He has to love it more than anybody else. To even put up with all that, that guy getting up and working out at four o’clock and handling three different TV shows and a sitcom and four movies and reading script who knows what all he’s doing and yeah, [Under Armour], everything.

“And so yeah, I was talking about Jericho. Look how many books he’s got out already, at least four I think, right? [Fozzy] – he tours of with band and he’s wrestling still. That guy he must love to stay busy and I think that’s a commendable quality.”

Rob Van Dam Says Chris Jericho Is “Entertainer At True Heart”

When it’s made mention that Chris Jericho has reinvented himself so many times over his career Rob Van Dam doesn’t look at it as a “reinvention,” but something that all great actors do.

“He’s an entertainer at true heart because he likes to change his look up and change his hair up. And that’s like real actors. They love doing that. They love to see themselves be different people. And to me, I mean, I’ve always looked [at that as] the same.”

Rob Van Dam made mention on a previous episode of his podcast that he be up for returning to AEW and Tony Khan also said that he’d love to have RVD back with the company.
