AEW Dynamite featured an Adam Page/Swerve Strickland contract signing main event, an International Title match and more.

This episode took place at the 1STBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The announcers were Excalibur and Taz. The last Dynamite before the WrestleDream PPV on Sunday.

Match #1: Rey Fenix defeated Jeff Jarrett to retain the International Championship. Jarrett got a few nearfalls due to distractions by Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh & Karen Jarrett at ringside, but Fenix kept kicking out. Fenix won with an inside cradle.

MJF and Adam Cole had a bonding session on a boat in Long Island last week. MJF teased attacking Cole with the Dynamite Diamond Ring because he was jealous of Cole’s friendship with Roderick Strong, but Cole made it clear you can have more than one friend. They went fishing and caught Paul Wight aka Captain Insano in the water. Wight ended up drinking beers with them.

Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita were interviewed by Renee Paquette in the ring with the fans booing loudly. Callis officially welcomed Sammy Guevera into the Don Callis Family. Callis showed a video of Konosuke Takeshita attacking Kota Ibushi while they were in Japan last weekend. Sammy did a promo about how he thought Chris Jericho would pass him the torch, but Jericho is selfish so Sammy attacked him because Callis showed him the way.

A Ricky Starks promo was shown after AEW Collision last week. Wheeler Yuta interrupted to challenge Starks to a match. It’s official for AEW WrestleDream PPV: Ricky Starks faces Wheeler Yuta.

Match #2: Nick Jackson defeated Claudio Castagnoli & Brian Cage by pinfall. Claudio gave Cage a Ricola Bomb, Nick gave Claudio a hurricanrana out of the ring and Nick covered Claudio for the win.

The win by Nick Jackson means he’ll challenge Rey Fenix for the International Championship next week on AEW Dynamite.

AEW World Champion MJF & Adam Cole did a promo in the ring. Cole announced he broke his ankle in three places last week on AEW Dynamite, he tore ligaments and has to get surgery. He’ll get back to the ring as soon as possible. MJF said he would defend the ROH Tag Team Titles against The Righteous at WrestleDream in a Handicap Match. Roderick Strong called for Adam Cole to help him, so Cole left.

Jay White interrupted the MJF promo to join him in the ring. They exchanged words with MJF mocking him while White claimed he would take the AEW World Title from him. There was no official challenge or match announced.

There was a taped sitdown interview with TNT Champion Christian Cage and Darby Allin with Jim Ross in between them. Christian did his usual bits about mocking dead fathers and claimed Darby hid behind face paint. Darby dared Christian to not bring Luchasaurus to their match at WrestleDream. Christian said he’ll always be the TNT Champion so get used to it.

Match #3: Orange Cassidy defeated Matt Jackson, Austin Gunn and Penta El Zero Miedo. A lot of superkicks and Canadian Destroyers in this match. Orange won with an Orange Punch on Matt Jackson for the pinfall win.

Match #4: Julia Hart defeated Willow Nightingale by pinfall. Hart won clean with a moonsault off the top.

After the match, Hart applied the Hartless submission on Willow. Kris Statlander, the TBS Champion, ran out to the ring to go after Hart, but Hart got out of the way. Hart hid behind Brody King and Statlander stared from a distance.

The main event was a Contract Signing between Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page with Renee Paquette asking a few questions. Swerve complained about Hangman being in his spot and Hangman said that he earned the spot he is in. Page thinks Swerve doesn’t have what it takes to fill his boots. When Swerve tried to sign the contract, Page stabbed him with a pen. Security broke it up before a fight could start.

At the end of the show, Jay White was beaten up by four guys with masks on their heads and their bodies covered since they were all dressed in black. A man in a “Devil” mask similar to what MJF has worn in the past was shown with them. The masked person looked at the camera and that was the end of the show.
