Darby Allin Happy To Be AEW’s “Guinea Pig”

Darby Allin remains determined to think outside the box.

Ever since first setting foot in a wrestling ring, Darby Allin has prided himself on taking chances others wouldn’t. This devil-may-care attitude has only been amplified further in AEW, and Allin has cemented himself as one of the top stars in the promotion as a result.

Allin has never met a chance he wouldn’t take and this has seen him repeatedly put his body on the line in the name of entertainment.

Appearing on the BJ & Migs Daily Podcast, Allin explained the rationale behind his risk-taking style, commenting that if someone is going to take those chances, he wants it to be him.

“My big thing is, if I have to be the spokesperson for AEW to show, like, if I am the guinea pig of doing crazy stuff to get more eyes on the company, let me be that guy.

To me, I feel like a lot of a people in wrestling, like, ‘What’s your character?’, ‘I’m not scared of anything,’ and then in real life, they’re like, ‘Please don’t hurt me.’

I’m thinking outside the box, like how do we get more random buzz from people who don’t watch wrestling, and it’s like, if you see it on the news: ‘Pro wrestler climbs Mount Everest.’ Like, ‘What?’, and then they look into it. That’s my goal.”

Tony Schiavone has recently commented on Darby Allin’s daredevil wrestling style, stating that the bumps will come back to haunt him.

Darby Allin Aiming To Climb Mount Everest

Back in July, Darby Allin announced his intention to become the first wrestler to climb Mount Everest. The star revealed he was already working with a coach with the aim of making an attempt in April or May 2024.

Long before then, Allin will be back in the ring at WrestleDream when he takes on Christian Cage in a Two Out of Three Falls match for the TNT Title.

In a new video, Darby Allin is seen having a nasty crash after a stunt went wrong.
